The most common issues, and what actually fixes them.
On iPhone: this shouldn't happen — Nyxlo is set up to keep playing through a locked screen with no settings to check. If it does stop, make sure Low Power Mode isn't aggressively restricting background activity (Settings → Battery), and that Nyxlo hasn't been force-quit from the app switcher before the session started.
On Android: this is almost always your phone's battery optimization settings — some manufacturers (OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung especially) apply extra background-app restrictions on top of standard Android, which can pause audio apps even when they're doing everything right.
On most Android phones: Settings → Apps → Nyxlo → Battery → set to Unrestricted (Pixel) or Don't optimize (most other Android phones).
On OnePlus specifically: also check Settings → Battery → Battery optimization → the ⋮ menu → Advanced optimization, and turn off "Deep optimization." OnePlus has been known to silently reset this setting after system updates — if the issue comes back after an update, this is the first thing to recheck.
Audio should keep playing fine either way — this only affects whether you see pause/skip controls without unlocking your phone.
On iPhone: this should appear automatically in Control Center and on the Lock Screen once a session starts, with nothing to enable. If it doesn't, try force-quitting Nyxlo from the app switcher and starting a fresh session.
On Android: a couple of settings control this, both outside Nyxlo itself:
If Gradually widen the gap is turned on, the pause is designed to slowly grow longer as your session goes on — that's expected, not a bug. If it feels genuinely irregular rather than gradually increasing, try reinstalling the latest version from the App Store or Play Store.
Nyxlo is built to skip a word cleanly rather than get stuck if one clip fails to load — so an occasional silent skip is by design, not a crash. If this happens frequently, please get in touch (below) — that's not expected behavior.
Email support@nyxlo.org and describe what you're seeing — your phone model and OS version help a lot.
